ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi commenced his high-profile visit to the United States on Monday where he is scheduled to meet with senior US officials, including President Donald Trump.
The Iraqi premier arrived in Washington DC at around 10 am local time. Rudaw's cameras captured his convoy en route to the Willard Hotel, where he is expected to stay during his visit.
According to Rudaw Washington Bureau Chief Diyar Kurda, Zaidi is scheduled to meet with US Special Envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack on Monday.
On Tuesday, Zaidi is expected to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House where the two leaders will engage in high-level bilateral talks focused on strengthening relations between Iraq and the United States.
