More than half of the city was destroyed after 2,750 tonnes of amonium nitrate exploded at Beirut's port on August 4. 220 people were killed and more than 6,000 injured, according to goveror Marwan Abboud.

Survivors and loved ones of the victims of the Beirut explosion have told Rudaw of their anger following the deadly blast which killed at least 158 and injured thousands last week.
